Embodied Carbon
BASF creates chemistry for a sustainable future. WALLTITE CM01 uses blowing agents based on
hydrofluoroolefins
(HFOs) with significantly lower global warming potential (GWP) compared to HFCs. WALLTITE CM01 is the
next
generation of spray foam insulation.
The above table compares the GWP of various insulation products (installed product; not just the blowing agent) using data from EPD’s (Environmental Product Declarations). It clearly shows that WALLTITE CM01 has a very low GWP compared to other plastic foams using HFC blowing agents and lower than insulations thought to be “green” such as Semi Rigid Mineral Wool.
The installed GWP of WALLTITE CM01 will often be even lower than shown since it has multiple functions
and eliminates the need for other components such as full coverage air and vapour barriers that also
contribute to the embodied carbon of the building. The next generation of closed cell SPF can reduce
your carbon footprint, enhance your building’s energy efficiency, and continue to earn points towards
LEED certification.

LEED
Attaining certification under Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system from the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) is an increasing goal of designers and developers coast to coast. WALLTITE can help your project achieve points in several categories, including:
MATERIALS AND RESOURCES
- MRc2 - Building Product Disclosure and Optimization – Environmental Product Declarations: Option 1 EPD
- MRc3 - Building Product Disclosure and Optimization – Material Ingredients: Option 1 material ingredient reporting
ENERGY AND ATMOSPHERE
- EAc2 - Optimize Energy Performance
